OpenID

OpenID allows you to use an existing account to sign in to multiple websites, without needing to create new passwords.

You may choose to associate information with your OpenID that can be shared with the websites you visit, such as a name or email address. With OpenID, you control how much of that information is shared with the websites you visit.

With OpenID, your password is only given to your identity provider, and that provider then confirms your identity to the websites you visit.  Other than your provider, no website ever sees your password, so you don’t need to worry about an unscrupulous or insecure website compromising your identity.

OpenID is rapidly gaining adoption on the web, with over one billion OpenID enabled user accounts and over 50,000 websites accepting OpenID for logins.  Several large organizations either issue or accept OpenIDs, including Google, Facebook, Yahoo!, Microsoft, AOL, MySpace, Sears, Universal Music Group, France Telecom, Novell, Sun, Telecom Italia, and many more.

Who Owns or Controls OpenID?

OpenID was created in the summer of 2005 by an open source community trying to solve a problem that was not easily solved by other existing identity technologies. As such, OpenID is decentralized and not owned by anyone, nor should it be. Today, anyone can choose to use an OpenID or become an OpenID Provider for free without having to register or be approved by any organization.

The OpenID Foundation was formed to assist the open source model by providing a legal entity to be the steward for the community by providing needed infrastructure and generally helping to promote and support expanded adoption of OpenID.

http://ekonomi.haberturk.com/teknoloji/haber/580420-tuketiciye-dost-faturaya-dusmanlar

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

FaceTime for Mac: It’s remarkable. It’s fun. And it’s not just for iPhone and iPod touch anymore. Now you can make video calls to iPhone 4, the new iPod touch, or another Mac. Right from your Mac.

Upload Your Content to the iTunes Store

http://blog.screencast.com/2009/01/uploading-content-to-the-itune.html

You can upload a folder or playlist to the iTunes store so others can subscribe to it from within iTunes. When you add your content to the iTunes store, it makes your content available to anyone who use the iTunes software application. Adding your folder or playlist to the iTunes store also makes your content searchable from within iTunes.
In order to upload to the iTunes store, you must have:
  • The iTunes application installed on your computer.
  • An iTunes account.
  • Your content approved. All content uploaded to the iTunes Store is evaluated by a moderator. This process takes 2-3 days. During this time, the content is not available for viewing.
  • iTunes compatible content in your folders or playlist. Any content in a folder or playlist not iTunes compatible is not sent to the iTunes feed.
There are two parts to uploading to the iTunes store:
1. Enabling the iTunes feed on your folder or playlist within Screencast.com.
2. Submitting the content to the iTunes store using the iTunes application.
We have given you an overview of the iTunes submission process below. For more in-depth instructions, read the iTunes Store Help Center article.
iTunes Store Submission Overview
  1. Within your Screencast.com folder or playlist, click the iTunes icon . The RSS Subscription page appears.
  2. Within the URL field at the top of the browser window, copy the entire URL (it should end in itunes).
  3. Open the iTunes application.
  4. In the left navigation pane, click on the iTunes Store link. The store appears on the right side.
  5. In the iTunes Store group box, click Podcasts. The view of the store will change to reflect your selection.
  6. Scroll to the very bottom of the page to the Learn More group box.
  7. Click Submit a Podcast. The Submission page appears.
  8. Paste the URL into the field provided.
  9. Click Continue. Follow the prompts through the iTunes wizard. Once your podcast is accepted, it will become available in the iTunes Store.

Submitting your podcast to iTunes Music Store

Your audience may considerably increase if you submit your podcast to iTunes Music Store, the most popular public catalogue of podcasts.

To register your podcast in iTMS  refer to instruction on the page http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html (see chapter "Submitting Your Podcast to iTunes"). On the submission page you will be asked to enter your podcast URL or RSS feed. Your RSS channel address is http://.mypodcast.com/rss.xml, your podcast URL is http://.mypodcast.com.

If you have any questions concerning iTunes service and submission process refer to iTunes FAQ.
To ease the submission procedure we provided you with the special form. To access the form click on the link "PODCAST SETTINGS/iTunes".

Let’s make a walk through the fields you will find here:
  1. Contains explicit material. If this field is incorrectly filled in, the podcaster will either be refused from adding his podcast to iTunes or his podcast will be eliminated later.
  2. Copyright text. Make sure that you have entered the copyright sign correctly "©"  (the sign “;” is often missed). If you want to use “&” symbol you should write “&”.
  3. Owner email. Do not leave this field blank otherwise RSS channel will not be validated on feedvalidator.org and your podcast will not be submitted to iTunes.
  4. The artwork for your podcast. Here you may upload a picture for your podcast which can also attract potential subscribers. Try to make an original podcast image to be distinguished from other podcasts.
  5. Podcast categories. Here you can specify the categories you want your podcast to be listed in. You may check up to 3 categories/subcategories, which will be included in your RSS feed. Each iTunes category contains the most popular 100 podcasts.
If you podcast is popular enough it will be listed in one or even three categories. Leaving this field blank you will not get RSS channel validated as well.
  6. Feed ID in Music Store. This field is filled in only after registration in iTMS. The Feed ID is found at the end of your podcast URL in iTMS http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id= FeedID. Note: it should contain only figures. When you get your Feed ID you should enter it in this field. This data I used for sending notification to iTunes Music Store after you create a new episode.
Now that your submission process has been completed you can publish your episodes on MyPodcast.com and they will also be available in iTMS.

How to Upload a Podcast to iTunes

Podcasting is a new medium that allows people to generate news and radio-esque shows that can be listened to on the go. Subscribers to podcasts can start and stop them at any time, as well as choosing the episodes they wish to download. For people with iPods, podcasts are a popular way to get news or stay current with their favorite artists. iTunes makes podcasts easily accessible to everyone, so getting your podcast listed on the service will give you more subscribers than ever before.
From Essentials: Webcast Basics

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • iTunes
  • Podcast with RSS feed
  1. Open iTunes on your computer and go to the iTunes store. In order to submit a podcast, you must have an iTunes account, and you must be logged in. If you do not have an iTunes account, click on the button on the top right that reads "Sign in." Create your account and make sure you are logged in. Once you are inside the store and logged in, click the podcast link located on the top left side of the page. This link brings you to the podcast directory, where users can choose podcasts to subscribe to.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page; under the heading "Learn More," click "Submit a Podcast."
  3. On the submission page, copy and paste your podcast feed URL. In order to submit a podcast, you must have an RSS feed with a publicly accessible URL. Then click "Continue," and if you have all of the iTunes tags in your feed, you will simply see a summary of your podcast. However, if iTunes cannot find , , and tags in your feed, you will be led to a new screen for you to fill in this information.
  4. Wait for approval. Once you successfully submit your podcast, it will be reviewed by the iTunes staff before being published. If it is approved, you will be able to find it in the podcast directory on iTunes.

Tips & Warnings

  • Check your RSS feed before submission by going to the advance menu in iTunes and clicking "Subscribe to a Podcast." Then paste your URL in the box and click "OK." If you see an orange circle next to your episodes, your podcast is being successfully downloaded; but if you see a gray circle with an "i" in it, your feed is not working properly.

How to Publish your Podcast on iTunes

http://www.ehow.com/how_2027326_publish-podcast-itunes.html

Even though you don't need iTunes or an iPod to be exposed to podcasting, many people happen to find the podcasts they listen to through the iTunes Store. So, if you have made your own personal podcast and want to have a platform for many potential listeners, why not try to publish your own podcast on iTunes?

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Completed Podcast
  • iTunes Account
  1. You have your first episode recorded. Make sure it's in one of these formats that iTunes supports: .m4a, .mp3, .mov, .mp4, .m4v, and .pdf.
  2. Make sure your files are on a server with a publicly accessible URL, that you've created your RSS feeds properly, and put the URL of your RSS feed onto your server.
  3. Open up iTunes and the iTunes Store, and click on Podcasts.
  4. In the middle of the screen, amongst the numerous podcasts, there will be a button called "Submit a Podcast."
  5. This will take you to a screen where it will request the URL for the podcast RSS feed that you would like to consider adding into the iTunes Store.
  6. Next, you will see a summary page. Depending on whether you have added tags already, a second screen might come up, asking you for more information--such as language, category, and whether the podcast requires explicit tags.
  7. Now, the final steps involves getting the iTunes staff approval. Soon, you should be able to find it via Search or Browse, and later, you can add more episodes if desired.

Tips & Warnings

  • Continue to update your podcasts to maintain your listeners interest.
  • Before you submit it, you should test that your RSS feed works. You can do that by either dragging the URL into the podcast playlist or going to the Advanced menu in your Toolbar, clicking on Subscribe to Podcast, and typing it in.
  • If you are asked to add summary information after you submit your URL (because your RSS feed didn't have tags), you can always go back and change them by including tags on your feed. The information on the RSS feed is what is going to be the definitive source of information for your podcast.
  • Never use copyrighted material in your podcast.
  • Think hard about what you're putting out there in your podcast before you submit it. The iTunes staff's job is to make sure that there aren't any technical problems, copyright issues, offensive materials, or other problems. Some of that can be prevented.
